About Molly Warkentin

Molly’s first make-up inspiration was as a toddler standing by her Mother’s vanity in the 80’s watching her apply blue eyeshadow and red lipstick … yearning to do the same. This combination was not to become her signature look for she is well known in the industry for her flawless, beautiful skin created with subtle innovation and a sophisticated palette. Freshness and understatement are key whilst the use of colour and texture are also a vital part of her creative extension.

“Makeup is an art of constant, very imperceptible, change in colour, texture, volume and touch. The mutability of seasonal fashion, the shifting conditions of light, the natural features of a model and the changing nature of each new brief means my approach is always transforming.”

Attracted to the full spectrum of colour and extremely deft in its application, Molly likens her work to painting in that she seeks to illuminate rather than disguise the originality of the face : “I like to emphasize the beauty that is already there and even if the brief calls for theatricality I always highlight the integrity of the skin and clarity of the model’s best features”
